approved freight operations at Anantnag station on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Line (USBRL), effective immediately.<\/p><p>This is the first time cargo movement has been allowed on the USBRL. The station will handle all commodities except petroleum products daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., enabling faster and more reliable transport for Valley businesses.<\/p><p>Freight trains will cross the Chenab and Anji bridges, linking Anantnag with supply hubs nationwide, cutting transit time and costs.<\/p><p>The move is expected to ease winter disruptions, allowing direct delivery of goods like foodgrains, cement, and fertilisers.
