national waterways by 2027 to boost green logistics and decarbonise freight transport. Announced in Mumbai, the initiative targets 156 MTPA cargo movement by 2026, aligned with Maritime India Vision 2030.<\/p><p>The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) is driving a \u20b91,400 crore investment to expand inland waterway coverage from 11 to 23 states and 4 UTs. The Regional Waterways Grid and key corridors like the 4,067 km IBP route will enhance connectivity.<\/p><p>Infrastructure upgrades on NW-1 and NW-2, including terminals and fairways, are underway. A \u20b95,000 crore plan focuses on the Northeast.
